Women’s Wisdom

Self-Care Yoga Retreat in the Andes

May 25-June 1, 2019

SOLD OUT RETREAT .jpg

“Self-Care is so important. When you take time to replenish your spirit, it allows you to serve others from the overflow. You cannot serve from an empty vessel.” Eleanor Brown

Join me for a transformational experience set in the lush valleys of Ecuador. This weeklong journey will allow you to slow down, make yourself a priority, tap into your powerful Women’s insight and intuition and receive the gifts of self-care.

  • Rest and Recharge through deeply healing practices; gentle and restorative yoga, reiki, yoga nidra and indigenous ancestral wisdom.

  •  Connect with supportive and like-minded women in a safe and intimate group.

  • Discover the wisdom within through soul journaling and sharing circles. Go deep into self-study to reveal your limiting beliefs and conditioning and reconnect to your divine feminine energy.

  •  Let go of what no longer serves you to cultivate the life that you want. Learn how to prioritize yourself and how to protect your energy by creating boundaries.

  •  Experience freedom and ease through simple self-care tools.

  •  Create a sustainable self-care plan for your life.

  •  Receive Support and Accountability after you come back to create a life-long sustainable self-care practice.

Karla, Your REtreat Leader

Ecuador holds a special place in Karla’s heart, the birthplace of her mother’s family and her heart longed to experience it for herself one day. Karla felt the presence of her ancestral roots and spiritual connection to the sacred land of Ecuador during her visits there. She knew that this magical land of sacred wisdom had to be shared with others.

Spreading the message of Self-Care and Self-Love is Karla’s heartfelt mission. Her intention is to teach others how to fully accept and honor the divine light, wisdom and purpose within themselves. She spreads these teachings into the world through her offerings of yoga, reiki energy healing and Yoga Nidra guided meditation. Karla strives to fully embody love and light both on and off the mat. Healing and self-inquiry have led her to seek out a more purposeful and mindful existence. To hold space for others and to honor the seat of the teacher is sacred work and Karla believes that serving others is her highest purpose. These realizations and openings came from dedication to her yoga practice, beyond the asana, only by diving deeper did she open up to receive the many gifts that were to come. Through the yoga practice, she learned that self-love and self-care were not only necessary but healing and over the years she has cultivated that practice. Self-care is a transformational practice and through Karla’s practical guidance and wisdom, you can experience it too . All you need is an open mind and an open heart! Namaste.

Relax, recharge and reconnect with the beauty of nature in the magical Yungilla valley of Ecuador. It’s located an hour’s drive away from the city of Cuenca, an Unesco World Heritage Site, well known for it’s beautiful weather, rivers and it’s impeccably preserved city center with cobblestone streets, plazas and Spanish colonial architecture.

Video Tour of Cuenca city center where we’ll take a tour to explore, shop and have an authentic Ecuadorean lunch.

Om Ashram Retreat Center is a beautiful, self-contained private villa with a swimming pool, surrounded by lush green trees and gardens is the ideal setting for our intimate women’s group. It’s a perfect semi-tropical location creating the ideal peaceful and tranquil environment for self-care.

Enjoy the comfort of your own bed with shared accommodations, the views of the Andes mountains, and a beautiful, fully equipped yoga shala for daily practice. Imagine yourself amongst nature, taking quiet walks, sitting in stillness, wandering the private gardens and soaking in time for yourself.

Karla had the great pleasure of meeting our lovely host, Maria Elena, owner/founder of Om Healing Center and Om Ashram on her last visit to Cuenca. The energy was right and Karla decided that Maria Elena’s Om Ashram Retreat Center in Yungilla would be a magical place to retreat to.

Inspirational reviews

IMG_0181.jpg

“I have known Karla since 2015 as a student, colleague, and friend. I was lucky to have Karla as one of the lead instructors during my 200hr Yoga Teacher Training, and I also had the privilege of assisting her as an instructor on a 200hr YTT in 2017.

Karla is a natural teacher and nurturer. She has a caring for her students that is deep and connected. Karla is one of those bright souls who sees the best in people, and loves them into fulfilling their highest potential. She has a wealth and breadth of knowledge and experience in both yoga and healing modalities that truly defines her motivation: to share profound healing with populations in need. Karla is motivated and driven by her passion, and puts 110% into everything she does to produce a holistic and comprehensive result for her students and clients.” Miranda Goll (Karma Miranda) Yoga Teacher and Reiki Master

“Karla was the first yoga instructor I was able to find comfort & support in. As someone who was starting their journey as a yoga teacher, I needed a mentor who was wise, caring, & dedicated to her teaching, she was exactly that. Her energy is so welcoming & she makes learning from her easy to grasp. Because she has so much background training, her style of teaching can cater to all levels & backgrounds of students. As I've gotten to know Karla, she has taught me to be courageous & fearless in my teachings & outside of the yoga space.”  Marlene Kamo (Mystic Marls) Yoga Teacher + Energy Healer

“Karla is very professional, easy to communicate with, and an energetic and engaging teacher. In leading instruction, Karla is highly skilled and has a deep understanding of the practice. She creates a calming and inviting atmosphere, both accessible for beginners and constructive for more advanced students.”

Is it safe to travel to Ecuador?

Ecuador is known as the most “tranquilo” or peaceful city in Ecuador. Of all of the cities in Ecuador, Cuenca is arguably the most charming with its cobblestone streets, old-world cathedrals, colonial parks and urban rivers.

In recent years, Cuenca has become a hot spot for expatriates and retirees settling down to live. Safety, low cost of living and pleasant, although slightly cool climate attracts expats to settle down in this small Andean city. Cuenca has the honor of being listed as a UNESCO World Heritage site.

How many people will be on this retreat?

We will have a max of 15 participants (including Karla and assistant) on our retreat to maintain intimacy. While some participants have experience with group travel, for many this is their first time. The reason to keep our circle small is cultivate deeper connections with the other women in the group.

Do I need a visa to enter Ecuador? What about a passport?

For North American or European travelers, a visa is not necessary to enter Ecuador, though you will need a passport that is current for six months following your date of entry into Ecuador. If it is not, you must renew it before departure. For travelers from other countries, please check with your embassy.

How do I register?

You can register online. A $400 deposit holds your space. See full payment and cancellation policy.
